2025 Holiday CHEER
The RIOA's year-end Holiday CHEER CE program is a staple in the Association's schedule each year. Join us for an end of year celebration as we unofficially kick off the Holiday Season with friends and colleagues!
For years now the Holiday CHEER CE Dinner has been the unofficial start to the Holiday Season for many RIOA members. We will follow traditional Holiday CHEER formats and will begin with a reception followed by dinner and a first-class and timely CE lecture.
Holiday CHEER - An RIOA Tradition
Maybe you need two more hours to satisfy your license renewal requirements... or maybe not! Either way, the evening's a great way to get together with your friends and colleagues well before the hustle and bustle of the Season!
Lecturer - Dr. Mengli Han (Associate Professor, MCPHS)
Amblyopia: the old and the new - This course is going to discuss what amblyopia is and the different types. It will discuss the traditional treatment approach based on randomized clinical trials, and also the new binocular treatment options. (AOA801-GO +/or 99541-FV, 1 hour)
Lecturer - Dr. Thomas Andrea (Attending Optometrist of Primary Care, NECO)
Papilledema Hot Potato - An in depth look at a case of idiopathic intracranial hypertension focusing on diagnosis, management, interprofessional collaboration and patient-centered card. (101794-SD COPE pending, 1 hour)

The American Optometric Association has developed a comprehensive continuing-education platform designed to support the delivery and administration of first-class, timely CE. Our review of neighboring states indicates that AOA credit can be used toward state licensure and relicensure requirements. We are testing this system with our final course of the year and will evaluate its applicability for our association. If you have specific questions regarding this 1 hour beta test please email us.
